Postvoorstelling
2009
Interfaculty for Image and Sound, The Hague
A collaboration with Xandra van der Eijk & Lars Kynde.
A performance based around 240 postcards. 'Postvoorstelling' started in november 2008. During two months a group of 30 people recieved a series of 8 cards send by mail.
Each card representing a scene. The public was getting the 'voorstelling' by mail. Without a fysical performer, but with a personal, handwritten text, combined with sound and light. A story about a dutch calvinist somewhere travelling in an unknown country, meeting a culture strange to him. A culture with another concept of time. With the past dissappearing behind the horizon and the future aproaching from behind. Where the Now is always laying under your feet.
In the end of Januari 2009 all the cards were picked up by a postman from all the adresses.
From here part 2 of 'Postvoorstelling' started.
All the postcards were used to build a musical landscape. Performed by 3 musicians. The public was invited to come, see and listen to this on the 29/30/31 of januari 2009 in De Brakke Grond, in Amsterdam.
